NIMAN DENATSU

The Legendary Koenji Venue is a Phoenix

After the legendary Koenji 20000V (“Niman volt”) was damaged in a fire, like a phoenix the legend rose from the ashes and was re-opened in its new location in 2009. Niman Denatsu (Japanese for “20,000 volts”) still remains worthy of its name– this system is LOUD! Specializing in punk, noise, avant-garde, alternative, and metal etc., this is what the Koenji underground scene is all about. Visually and musically exciting S.V.K. (shown) is just one of many unique bands to play at Niman Denatsu. The bar features a wide variety of drinks (alcohol 500 yen, soft drinks 300) and the size is just right– about 50+ people make a good crowd here, and the sound is immense!
