JAZZ BAR KLAVIER

Jazz Up Your Weekend at Klavier
[updated November 2022]

If you’re looking for a classy way to spend a Friday or Saturday night, look no further than Jazz Bar Klavier. This iconic venue has been in Asagaya since 1982 and greatly contributes to the lively jazz scene of Asagaya including the Asagaya Jazz Streets Festival, and music scene in general in Suginami Ward. At Klavier you’ll enjoy watching live shows performed by very accomplished and passionate jazz players, both young and old. The list of performers that have graced Klavier with their presence over the years is extensive, but it includes such high profile musicians as bassist Mitsuaki Furuno, guitarist Satoshi Inoue, and pianist Yoko Kobayashi. You’ll also find one of the most extensive drinks lists we’ve ever seen!

The charming owner studied music in Germany and even plays piano some nights. So pull up a chair, order some delicious drinks and snacks and have a chat with the friendly regulars between sets. Live shows are every Friday and Saturday, but any other night enjoy jazz greats from the owner’s extensive CD collection.
