BINGIRI TAN-TAN-MEN

A Bold Arrangement of Ramen from Chiba
[updated August 2022]

This Tan Tan noodle (Sichuan style noodle) ramen restaurant draws influence from the taste of Chiba (you’ll know Chiba from Narita Airport and Tokyo Disneyland). Tan Tan Noodles are a Sichuan dish of noodles covered with a sauce of sesame paste and chili oil. Bingiri adds more spices such as Hanazansho (flower of the Japanese pepper) for more depth of hotness similar to Katsuura (Chiba) style Tan Tan Noodles, which contain plenty of chili oil and onions. It’s available in a 170g portion for 800 yen.
Optional toppings are seasoned egg (100 yen), braised pork (300 yen) and salty-simmered bamboo shoots (100 Yen). Shumai (steamed Chinese pork dumplings) and more side menu items are also available. Located in ramen-famous Ogikubo.

It’s a small shop and very popular, so you may have to wait in line, especially since they’re only open for lunch.
