ASATACHI

Hang Out With the Locals at this Traditional Standing Izakaya
[updated August 2022]

Head to Asatachi in Asagaya for a traditional Japanese yakitori (grilled skewered chicken) experience. Order a few plates of delicious chicken skewers, grab a couple of drinks and have a laugh with the jovial patrons. You’re guaranteed a great night at Asatachi!

The cheerful young owner speaks a little English and can provide an extensive English menu. He recommends hatsu (chicken heart) and motsu (chicken giblets), though we also enjoyed the less adventurous sasami (chicken tenderloin). To complement the chicken, there are also a large range of sides such as cold tofu, Korean pancakes (chijimi) and salad. A range of Japanese drinks are available: beer, shochu, whisky and Hoppy, as well as soft drinks.

Asatachi is just a 2 minute walk from the North Exit of Asagaya Station, in the Star Road nightlife area.
