KOKOROMI

Coffee and Exhibition Space with a Touch of the Showa Era
[updated July 2023]

Kokoromi is one of Tokyo’s hidden gems calling Koenji home. Run by the sociable Hasegawa-san and her daughter, this unique cafe and exhibition space coexist within the 80-year old walls of a Showa Era home that quickly takes you back in time. The coffee served on Arita ceramics looks beautiful and tastes even better, and the delicious sea salt caramel pudding is worth every yen. Lunch is also offered and includes curry and homemade bread among other treats. For the traveling artists, the tatami rooms on the second floor serve as a gallery space and can be rented starting at 1,500 yen per hour depending on the size of the room. As such, exhibitions are held on occasion with some of the exhibited art and fashion available for sale.
