DEBESO

Authentic Sanuki Udon Paired With Alcohol

Udon Sakaba Debeso, or “Udon-Pub Debeso”, is just a few minutes from the Koenji Station by taking the South Exit and going along the main road. At the crossroads you will find this udon specialty restaurant on the left. Opened in October 2017, they became well known for the most popular type of udon noodles from Japan’s Shikoku region, Sanuki Udon. This type of udon is characterized by the square shape and flat edges of the noodles.

It is usually served as a noodle soup, and was originally popularized in the Kagawa Prefecture of Shikoku, Japan. The broth is made from a type of Japanese dashi, which varies in strength and flavor across Japan.

The most popular dishes here are tempura udon, tempura tofu with soup, and the delicious home made potato salad. One of the main reasons Debeso is such a hit is because they identify as an udon pub serving all types of alcohol to enjoy with your udon noodles.

The staff is very friendly and pleasant, they speak a bit of English, and the atmosphere is the right one to start your Koenji evening. Since they are popular don’t be surprised if you have to wait in line, though it will be worth the wait! Enjoy!
