Lively Music and Entertainment While Dining

If you are a fan of good music and good food then Rooster is a good choice for your evening. With two locations in Ogikubo, the original Live Cafe since 1997 near Ogikubo Station South Exit and Rooster Northside since 2005, owner Sato-san and company have kept the jazz and blues flowing. Sometimes they also have soul or other styles– particularly the oldies pop/rock nights are a ton of fun.

The restaurant aspect is also in full force, with a well-rounded menu (including pictures and item names written in English) you’ll find jerk chicken/pork, gnochi, chili, vegetable dishes, pizza, as well as snacks and side dishes. The specialty is “Rooster Don”, a Japanese style donburi-bowl of miso-ground chicken with friend egg topped on rice. All kinds of drinks and alcohol are available as well.

For a lively night of good music, good eating, and good times, this is the place to be. They even do a magic show during the intermission of each live event, usually performed by owner Sato-san himself!
