Enjoy Hand-Crafted Sweets with Sake or Japanese Tea!
[updated July 2019]

There is something special about watching a master while perfecting an art, and even more so when that craft involves exquisite Japanese sweets. At Wokashiya (をかしや) in Nishi-Ogikubo, you will not only be able to watch Tobe-san as she carefully prepares blueberry mochi (soft rice cake) and persimmon mochi, but you will also have the pleasure of enjoying these delicacies paired with specially made chestnut and yuzu tea (Japanese citrus), or a delicious pint of Taketsuru sake. If you want to satisfy your savory palette, then try the Saba Pote, a mackerel-filled fish-shaped waffle cookie adorned with pink pepper. And if you cannot accompany Tobe-san, do not worry; you can take these treats home with you.
