COTOGOTO
Select From Only The Finest Items Made in Japan
[updated September 2022]
Cotogoto first started in 2012 and now has 3 branches in Koenji with different themes. This particular shop specializes in handcrafted kitchen items from across Japan. The best-selling item here is wooden tableware. Each piece is made one by one by skillful Japanese craftsmen and they really popular among Japanese. Another interesting item is the KAMI series wooden tableware which is made with a surprising thinness. Last but not least, The Moomin Troll series is not only cute but also has a sense of elegance for its blue ceramics style. Prices may be on the expensive side compared to average shops but you get what you pay for—in this case the highest Japanese quality, which is worth every yen.
Other than kitchen items you may also find a lot of other things such as seasonal items, including fireworks, fans and bamboo baskets for summer. For those who like cooking and want to add a Japanese element to your kitchen, definitely check this place out.
They also provide wrapping services for present and bubble wrap for souvenirs. Cotogoto is located on the second floor across from OK Supermarket, only 5 minutes from Koenji Station.
