Shodo Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
■Content: Using ink/paint, learn some techniques of traditional Japanese calligraphy
■Materials: Provided by Ryu Guw and included in the cost.
■Location: Ryu Guw (see address above or map below)
■Workshop Time: approximately 2 hours
■Number of Participants: no minimum
■Cost: 2,500 yen per person (tax included)
■Instructor: Miho-sensei, who received an award from the Minister of Education. In 2014
and 2015, She had an exhibition at the Japan EXPO in France

Ryu Guw is an underground bar in Koenji on Look Street. It is truly a one-of-a-kind place, one of the few locations where you can experience traditional Japanese performances live in a bar-meets-shrine atmosphere. The owner is a world-class taiko drummer, and in addition to wagakki (Japanese instruments) performances, they also offer Japanese calligraphy (shodo) lessons in the same unique atmosphere.
