MOON STOMP
Bluegrass Music in Koenji?
[updated August 2020]
Trust me, we’re as surprised as you. The most popular event at the Live Café Moon Stomp, opened in 2002, is the bluegrass sessions on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month. Aside from bluegrass, traditional jazz, blues, country, acoustic, and Irish music are played here, and the food is great too! Try the homemade Haitian Curry. Owner Yasu loves music and cooking, and Hiroshima Carp, the baseball team from his native Hiroshima. He used to be in a psychobilly band and decided he wanted to open a place for music that didn’t have much support. There were no other bluegrass venues so they moseyed on in. Good food and drinks, free wi-fi, and a very fun and lively atmosphere. Besides occasional blues sessions, live shows are no charge, so you have no excuse not to check it out. Come to Koenji for a bite and stay for the tunes!
