The Hard Rock Izakaya-Bar That Will Pump You Up

Pump Bar is a Hard Rock Izakaya (Japanese bar) run by the charismatic Katsumi-san, also known as Kura-chan (a nickname derived from Klaus, as in Klaus Meine from Scorpions). Kura-chan is a devoted rock fan that proudly displays her love for Aerosmith and other bands, as well as the not-so-threatening Rilakkuma (“Relax Bear”) with both passions taking center stage at the bar. Pump also hosts acoustic nights where local and foreign acts showcase their talent. And on a regular basis, Kura-chan will happily comply with her guests’ music and video requests and at the same time please their palettes as she cooks up a mean kimchi and pork dish, among other delicious appetizers. So come on up to this 2nd floor izakaya bar and breathe in the life of Koenji‘s rock flavors.
