EL PATO

An American Dining Experience in the Heart of Koenji
[updated August 2022]

Located north of JR Koenji Station along the popular Koshin Dori shopping street, El Pato has been delighting locals and foreigners with classic American cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere. The chef and owner Kiyoshi-san learned the trait at the California School of Culinary Arts and is known in the neighborhood for cooking up mouthwatering classics including BBQ pork ribs, lamb burgers, and very tasty buffalo chicken wings, all of which can be paired with a chilled pint of beer. This is an awesome spot for those who although enjoying the wonders of Japan, might be pining for some classic American dining.

Great for those Americans visiting Japan who are homesick or those visiting from other countries who would like to experience authentic American cuisine. Kiyoshi-san not only learned cooking in the States, he also speaks fluent English! Although this is potentially a meat-lover’s restaurant, ordering a BLT with avocado instead of bacon (ALT) also makes a great option for vegetarians. The homemade bread is another one of the many highlights of this friendly establishment.
