SANSHINOMORI PARK
A Place To Relax, a Place To Play

Sanshinomori Park in Higashi-Koenji used to be the Government’s institution for silk and silk moths, but in 1980 the institution was moved to Tsukuba in Ibaragi prefecture. After that the land has been used both as a park and the school ground for the elementary school. You can still see the old gate and the office of the institution that are made of brick.
The park has an artificial pond in the center. In spring, you can enjoy many kinds of beautiful flowers and somei yoshino cherry blossoms. In autumn, you can enjoy the colorful fall foliage. Also, this park makes a very good place for children as there are many kinds of playground equipment and a big artificial waterfall – 30 meters wide and 3.5 meters high. Adults and children alike can enjoy the pond on a hot summer day, although it is a great place to relax if you are in the area during any season!
