SAFARI 1 (Update: 7/29)

Koenji’s Vintage Clothing Powerhouse
[updated July 2025]

If you like American vintage clothing, we recommend Safari in Koenji. Safari Store #1 specializes in vintage American brands such as Levi’s, Champion, Converse, and many others. Safari is a vintage fashion brand based in Koenji with eight stores in Koenji alone.

The items here are perfect for collectors of high-end vintage clothing. Safari buys and sells vintage clothing dating all the way back to the 1930s. The majority of their collection is from the 1950s and 1960s, with an overwhelming display of vintage denim including Levi’s jeans, jackets and more. Coveralls are some of their more popular rare items. Safari also has an amazing selection of footwear including vintage chucks and Nike. Top quality vintage clothing also comes with a hefty price tag, but for vintage denim with value that continues to increase, Safari’s prices for these “blue diamonds” are reasonable for what they are worth. Changing rooms are also available, and it is OK to try on anything before you buy but just be aware that returns are generally not accepted for high quality vintage clothing.

Safari Store #1 is their flagship store but each Safari store has their own specialty, so if you can’t find what you’re after at Safari Store #1, be sure to check out the others. For example, Stores 2-4 specialize in Ralph Lauren, import select clothing, and outdoor clothing respectively. Safari has new clothing coming in every day, including the rare and quality vintage items they are famous for. Check back often for great new finds!
