If you are a fan of the underground and/or punk/hardcore music, Base in Koenji is as the name describes: your home base for such music releases. Opening its now completely sticker-and-poster-covered-doors in 1997, Record Shop Base has continued to provide CD’s, vinyl, cassettes, DVD’s, T-shirts, punk zines and more to underground-hungry fans in the area and overseas. CD’s are mostly used, and about 70% new and 30% used vinyl is becoming a bigger seller more and more.
Not limited to brick and mortar, you can also buy online– they ship internationally. From Koenji rock and underground artists and throughout all of Japan and abroad, Base is ready to serve you punk, hardcore, punk-related metal, and underground music the Koenji way.
