As the saying goes, the best things in life come in small packages; Ontoen Rhythm Store in Asagaya fits this exactly. The store is small and inconspicuous on the outside, but full of rhythm and good vibes on the inside. As you walk in, your ears will go into a trance thanks to the chilled music selection played by the owner/DJ Wakaizumi-san, who with extensive knowledge about Jazz, Japanese Folk, and World Music, is open to giving customers a few record recommendations. There’s a wide selection of both popular and rare used records to choose from, but why stop at that? Ontoen Rhythm Store also offers books, artsy goods, and organic T-shirts printed by the owner himself. This is definitely one of Tokyo’s not-to-miss jewels.
