KAMAJU

Authentic Street Food For Your Pearl Center Stroll
[updated December 2023]

One popular type of Japanese food that is mostly unknown outside of the country is called oden. It’s an original Japanese food that is especially popular and common in the winter season, consisting of daikon (giant white radish), chikuwa (fish paste), and various other items stewed with soy-sauce and Japanese dashi broth. Hard boiled egg and tofu are also common.

At Kamaju Kamaboko Shop in Asagaya, they sell oden and the steamed fish “sausage” called kamaboko. Many people buy oden and kamaboko and enjoy eating them while walking down the Pearl Center shopping street in Asagaya. Oden are often served on skewers, on a plate, or in a cup of broth. Especially in the winter season you shouldn’t miss the warm and delicious oden Kamaju has to offer. Kamaboko are also a unique taste you can always enjoy when you come to the Pearl Center.
Kamaju is located just a 3-minute walk from Asagaya Station. Cross the street from the station and head down the Pearl Center covered shopping arcade.
