GAIJIN

Stand-out Feminine Fashion
[published May 2020]

Less than 10 minutes west of Shinjuku on the Chuo Line brings you to Koenji, known for its huge amount of vintage and used-clothing stores. So when you go to this vintage area of Tokyo, you may be overwhelmed but some places do stand out.

Gaijin is one such shop, very popular among young women. Located just off of Etoile Dori Street on the wide open strip of vintage shops leading up to Chosenji Temple, you will be able to find the shop easily with its rocking horse out front. Gaijin carries mainly women’s clothing and accessories, including a lot of European vintage clothes of both fancy and cute varieties. They also sell designers’ accessories on consignment. They tend to have a lot of famous brand items making the prices a little higher than other shops in Koenji, but you know you are getting quality at Gaijin. They have many repeat customers who are women in their 20’s, trusting their quality and selection. Recommended for those seeking quality who enjoy a distinctly feminine style.
