Savory Chicken Flavor Ramen

Narukami on Kyokai Dori Shopping Street in Ogikubo makes ramen with an enjoyable chicken flavor and they also serve Chicken Paitan Ramen with soy sauce (680 yen for a 140g noodle portion). Paitan is thick white broth prepared by boiling chicken bones. Their ramen is healthy and free from a chemical seasoning. Large deep‐fried chicken (kara-age) on the ramen looks dynamic and makes a great taste combination, and the soup is not too rich so everything is well balanced and doesn’t feel too heavy like many other types of ramen. However, those tonkotsu ramen lovers who favor a heavier style of ramen can also select a heavier style of Narukami’s chicken ramen as well.

Optional toppings are seasoned egg, additional meat, and salty-simmered bamboo shoots. They also have gyoza Chinese dumplings (300 yen) and steamed rice as side dishes.
