Another advantage to Suginami over that of the inner city areas is that there are plenty of parks, making it feel really out of the city. The green park along Zenpukiji River is considered one of the best spots for cherry blossom viewing ("hanami") in west Tokyo, as it spans almost 2 kilometers with hundreds of cherry trees. Not only cherry blossom viewing but even fall foliage lit up at night can be found in the historic Otaguro Park.
