SEIFU-EN

Nishi-Ogikubo Special Roasted Green Tea and More
[updated August 2022]

Located right after you step out from Nishi-Ogikubo Station’s north gate, Seifu-en tea shop is not only the locals’ favorite but also a great place to buy good quality tea as souvenirs for foreign visitors. They have been in business since 1940!

The are many varieties of tea to choose from but our recommendation is the shop’s original “Nishi-Ogikubo Hoji-Cha” (roasted green tea) which is freshly blended everyday and priced at only 324 yen (including tax) per package, exclusively available at this Nishi-Ogikubo tea shop! Or as a fancier gift, there are also many award-winning teas, matcha (powdered green tea) and even imported tea bags, all priced around 1000 yen. The shop also has a free wrapping service for gifts.

Other than tea, Seifu-en also carries a variety of nori (dried seaweed), tea-flavored cookies, and tea pot sets. Even if you are not in for any shopping, relaxing yourself with a green tea ice cream and/or a cup of complimentary tea is also a great addition to your day in local Tokyo.
