MIDORIZUSHI

Step Through The Green Curtain For Authentic Edo-Period Sushi
[updated August 2022]

Take a walk down Etoile-dori Street in Koenji to find the green sign for Midorizushi (literally “Green Sushi”), and step inside to be transported back to the sushi of Edo (old Tokyo), some of the best and most authentic sushi you can experience in Tokyo, in a lovely atmosphere. This old-school sushi restaurant has been going over 50 years, and the current chef has continued the traditions his father began. Edo style sushi has the soy sauce brushed on, so there is no need to dip. Wasabi is also added, so if you don’t want wasabi be sure to tell the chef.

He also specializes in all kinds of Japanese cuisine including tempura, fried seafood, and has his fugu blow-fish license so a variety of fugu cuisine, from a full course (8000 yen) to fugu sushi (400 yen) to sake* made from blow-fish fin (800 yen) is safely prepared for you to have the dining experience of a lifetime. Midorizushi offers sushi and seafood that you won’t find anywhere else, so come here for a unique sushi experience!

*Please note a ¥600 “otoshi” charge is added if any sake is ordered.
