Atara-C-Hito is a shop that has caught the attention of many vintage hunters and TV programs due to its unique style and items. Another thing that sets Atara-C-Hito apart from just about any other shop in Japan is that customers are able to bargain the prices. Here, they use their own currency called “Koiken”, which is an exchange coupon. 1 koiken equals 100 yen. Items range from 1 koiken up to 1000 koiken. In order to get koiken, customers can sell their own vintage goods in exchange for the coupons… of course, yen may also be used. This system is typically rare in Japan where you can haggle for a deal, so if you are good at bargaining, you may want to try to score some treasures from Atara-C-Hito.
