KIKI

Shopping in a Cozy Children’s Room for Retro and Chic Clothing
[published July 2021]

Look Street in Koenji is known for its plethora of vintage and used clothing shops, and in less than 10 minutes from Koenji Station you will come to the bright outside of Kiki, with an inner concept of shopping inside a children’s room. Kiki is an authentic Koenji used clothing shop with original style. They offer a unique selection of women’s used clothing ranging from mostly the 1950’s – 1970’s, primarily in American taste. The shop staff said that they hope customers come not only for the fashionable items but also to enjoy the interior. To make the atmosphere of a “children’s room”, there is a nostalgic wood interior and warm antique lights. Cute posters and quilts and soft colours adorn the room for a chic and soft mood. One quite adorable feature is the vintage stuffed animals and dolls lined up inside of the dressing room. An antique register is also still in operation for taking payment!

Note there are three Kiki shops in the Koenji area. What really makes the Kiki brand is “kawaii” cuteness. Kiki 2 has cute interior and more romantic taste clothes, but the original Kiki is more casual and chicer. The assortment is mainly American casual and vintage clothes here, with a main price range is around 3000 – 4000 yen. There are many accessories which can even mix with work clothing and various coloured trainers. Therefore, even if you don’t have an interest in “kawaii” used clothing, you can still find something that suits you here. When you have a chance, explore the unique selections at Kiki while enjoying its vibrant and cozy interior.
