Suginami Summer Events (2025.07.29)
If you are in Tokyo during August, be sure not to miss the big summer festivals in Suginami! Check out Tanabata in Asagaya from August 7th through 11th for decorations and street food, then the Awa-Odori Festival in Koenji the weekend of August 23rd and 24th for the excitement of traditional Awa-Odori dance and music parading through the streets!

Spring Has Sprung in Suginami, Tokyo! (2025.03.25)
The cherry blossoms have started to open, meaning we can expect full bloom at Suginami’s relaxing parks in about a week, right on schedule for the first week of April. Full bloom usually lasts about a week, and the sakura can still be enjoyed for another week after that. See our parks section for some excellent places to view the blossoms. We especially recommend Zenpukuji River Green Park!
